We Know What’s Best

The editorial cartoon comments on the recent U.S. government bans on social media apps. Personally, I oppose banning apps and websites unless the crimes or societal threats are far more severe than another country targeting users and profiting from ads. The underlying anti-Chinese, anti-tech sentiment seems rooted in the fact that China isn’t a free country. They censor their internet. Responding to them by making our own country less free, censoring our internet, feels both counterproductive and hypocritical. It also feels unconsitutional.
